Tracking U.S. Arms: Implications for Security and Stability
The United States is the world’s leading weapons provider, selling conventional arms to more than 110 countries around the globe in FY2020 alone. How does the U.S. government monitor these transfers, and what risks emerge if U.S. weapons fall into the wrong hands? Join the Stimson Center, Conflict Armament Research, and the Center for International Policy’s Security Assistance Monitor for an expert panel that will explore these and related questions. Speakers will examine long-standing challenges and lessons from Afghanistan as a case study in the aftermath of U.S. support for foreign defense and security forces and will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of current mechanisms in place that safeguard and track U.S. arms flows.

When you RSVP you will also receive updates on Stimson research and events.
